Beginning Computer Classes The Library will offer FREE Beginning Computer Classes for those who would like to learn the 21st century technology. Carol Miller, retired Vassar High School computer teacher, will conduct the classes. One does not even need to own a computer. At the classes, participants will use the Library's laptop computer lab. Participants can practice anytime, during Library hours, on the Library's public access computers. Only a FREE Library card is necessary. Advance registration is required and there is a limited number of participants. Very Basic Beginning Computer September 15 & 22, 1 p.m. For those who have little, or no computer experience, this class will teach the basic, beginning skills needed to operate the computer, as well as computer lingo. This class will be offered at 1 p.m. on Wednesdays, Sept. 15th and 22nd. The two different classes will allow participants to learn the basic skills at the first class, practice what they've learned, and return to the second class armed with questions and problems.
Basic Internet October 13 & 20, 1 p.m. This class will be for those who have a basic knowledge of the computer, but want to learn how to search the Internet for shopping, genealogy, travel, medical information, etc. Basic internet searching techniques will be taught. The two different classes will be offered on Wednesdays, Oct. 13th and 20th, at 1 p.m.

Victorian Tea & Vintage Fashion Show Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, 2 p.m. Tea and desserts will be served on vintage china by the Broken Teapot Shop of Mayville, MI. Enjoy a fashion show of vintage clothing, 1860-1960, from the collection of the Flint Community Players.
A red, white, and blue patriotic quilt, made by the Cass River Quilters' Guild, will be raffled. Other prizes include a Charity Island Dinner Cruise and a DVD player. (Raffle tickets are $1 each, or 6 for $5.) Tea and Fashion show tickets are $10 each. (Advance tickets are required.)

The Library Book
The Library Book is a children's picture storybook about a new library book that finds a home in Vassar's Bullard Sanford Memorial Library. His first new friend is a Library card, who introduces him the all the Library has to offer.
Signed copies of the book will be on sale for $12.50 at the Library. All proceeds from the book will benefit the Library, thanks to all our wonderful sponsors:
